Hourigan Connolly managed an application for the approval of reserved matters (appearance, scale, layout and landscape) for the development of 128 dwellings on the former Greaves Hall Hospital site in Banks, near Southport. The development of this brownfield site, which had been vacant for over 20 years, had been complicated by the operations of neighbouring uses, local objection to the proposed access and the lack of viability for affordable housing.
We helped secure a unanimous approval for the scheme at Planning Committee in June 2017, which also includes a new car park for the local primary school, the provision of a footpath and lighting to key local roads and a 3 hectare area of public open space.
