Instructions were given to apply for outline planning permission for the residential development of a greenfield site in the urban area of Alsager. The site was subject to several physical constraints including being bounded by a main river and a railway line, the presence of a number of high quality trees, and the loss of grassland habitat due to development.
Working closely with various Officers at the Council, Hourigan Connolly agreed revisions to the scheme which alleviated all concerns regarding the potential impact on existing trees and biodiversity, but without prejudicing the client’s objectives for development of the site.
The planning application was recommended for approval by Officers and was approved by the Planning Committee subject to a legal agreement.
