Following the refusal of outline planning permission for up to 321 dwellings Hourigan Connolly were appointed to provide expert witness services in relation to housing land supply and planning matters for an appeal that was heard by way of a Public Inquiry.
Despite the very recent adoption of the Council’s Development Plan our experts were able to demonstrate that the Council did not have a 5 year supply of deliverable housing as it claimed resulting in the recently adopted policies restricting development in the countryside being out-of-date. Furthermore we convinced the Inspector that the scheme comprised a sustainable development.
The appeal was subsequently allowed and planning permission was granted in February 2016.
