An application for outline planning permission was submitted for the redevelopment of a redundant covered reservoir located in the Cheshire Green Belt. The supporting documents demonstrated how the development did not comprise inappropriate development in the Green Belt, would result in a substantial reduction of built form, and would deliver social, environmental and economic benefits. Notwithstanding this, the Planning Committee refused the proposals.
On behalf of our client, a robust appeal was submitted and the Inspector wholeheartedly agreed that the development was not inappropriate, and outline planning permission was granted. In addition, our argument that there was no requirement to provide affordable housing was also accepted by the Inspector.
