Hourigan Connolly secured outline planning permission on appeal following an informal hearing for a 44 dwelling scheme on this part greenfield/part previously developed site in the village of Down Ampney in the Cotswolds. In allowing the appeal the Inspector agreed with Hourigan Connolly that neither the District Council nor Parish Council had produced any tangible evidence that demonstrated the proposals would have any effect on social cohesion or well-being. The conclusions of the Inspector were clear; the site is in a sustainable location in a sustainable village where the emerging Local Plan provided for planned growth.
